HCM CITY — Several street art activities performed by Vietnamese artists are being offered at the Saigon Urban Street Fest 2024 held in front of the Central Post Office in District 1 until December 8.
The festival, with the theme “Be Love Be Free”, is organised by artLIVE, a multimedia platform specialising in art, architecture, cuisine, and audiovisual, with its partner, the city Tourism Promotion Centre.
Trang Dương, CEO of artLIVE, said the event highlights performances of local artists to create a playground for young people and encourage them to express their personalities and creativity.
The festival’s highlight is a live performance of five artists – Tống Minh Khoa, Nguyễn Công Danh, Lưu Đoàn Duy Linh, Phan Vũ Minh Trí and Nguyễn Văn Ngọc Đức – who are finalists of the artLIVE Graffiti Championship 2024.
They will present 3D graffiti paintings on canvas to highlight the festival’s theme, and urban life in Saigon.
The festival also features live music shows and breaking dance, street dance, and freestyle dance performances, featuring local bands and dance crews such as Rosie Band, HMC, and Joker Kid.
There are workshops on decorating Christmas trees and nón lá (conical hats) and making egg coffee.
The festival is open to the public for free and is expected to attract 40,000 visitors during the three-day event. — VNS
