Vietnam’s Covid-19 community transmission tally up by 45 Monday evening, raising the total count to 467, according to the latest report from Health Ministry.
Of the new infections, Ho Chi Minh City recorded the highest number, 25 cases, followed by Hai Duong with 12, Hanoi and Quang Ninh with three each, and Gia Lai with two, the Health Ministry said.
The new cases in Ho Chi Minh City are people who came in close contact with those later identified as Covid-19 patients and linked to the Tan Son Nhat International Airport outbreak.
The 12 new cases in Hai Duong Province are residents in districts Cam Giang and Kim Thanh and Chi Linh Town, which have all been under lockdown.
Quang Ninh Province’s three cases are residents of Dong Trieu Ward and Ha Long Town.
All the three cases in Hanoi were recorded in Nam Tu Liem District, while the two cases in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai are residents of la Pa and Kong Chro districts.
Hai Duong is now the most affected in this new wave of community transmissions, recording 321 cases, followed by Quang Ninh (50), HCMC (31), Hanoi (26), Gia Lai (21), Binh Duong (six), Bac Ninh (four), Dien Bien (three), Hoa Binh (two), and Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Ha Giang one each.
With the new confirmed cases, Vietnam has registered 467 domestic Covid-19 cases in 12 cities and provinces since January 28.
By far, Vietnam has got 2,050 cases and 1,472 of them have recovered, according to VNExpress.
