One more Vietnamese passenger tested positive for Covid-19 on arrival in South Korea, while another tested positive for the first time at a Japanese airport.
According to a representative from Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, the 24-year-old passenger from the northern province of Ha Nam took a Vietnam Airlines flight from Hanoi to Incheon International Airport in South Korea on August 20.
He tested positive for the virus through the method of the real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).
Being informed of the case, 15 staff from Vietnam Airlines and Noi Bai International Airport who had close contact with the passenger have been asked to quarantine themselves at home for 14 days.
He was the second passenger on the same flight to have been infected. The other was a 22-year-old student from the northern city of Haiphong.
The student had returned to Vietnam in March and was quarantined as regulated. He travelled to Quang Nam and Danang City in the central region between July 24-27 and then self-isolated at home
Last week, a young man from Ba Vi District’s Vat Lai Commune in Hanoi, tested positive for Covid-19 on arrival in Japan.
