The northern region of Vietnam has been forecasted to have another light cold spell this weekend.
According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the cold weather would cause the region’s temperature to drop by 5-6 degrees centigrade to below 25.
Temperatures in mountainous areas are set to fall to below 20 degrees centigrade.
The cold spell is predicted to bring strong winds and rains.
The north has been forecasted to face more cold snaps from the end of this month.
The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that northern localities would have a warmer winter this year.
The average temperature of the northern region and localities from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue provinces in the central region between October and December this year would be 1-1.5 degrees centigrade higher than previous years.
From January to March 2020, the northern region’s average temperature would be 0.5-1 degree centigrade higher than previous years.
Strong cold weather would concentrate in the northern region by late December into January next year.
