Hanoi only tests Covid-19 with people with suspicious signs and symptoms. Spectators watching the match live do not have to take Covid-19 test.
The Hanoi People’s Committee has just issued a plan to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic for the 31st SEA Games in the city.
The plan is to prevent, control and prevent the spread of the epidemic, to safely serve the 31st SEA Games; proactively and effectively respond to Covid-19 epidemic situations in the process of organizing and creating maximum facilitation for the activities of the 31st SEA Games.
The principle of epidemic prevention and control is that cases with a positive SARS-CoV-2 test or with Covid-19 do not participate in the competition, serve the 31st SEA Games, and carry out isolation and treatment according to instructions.
Those who have been in close contact with a case with a positive SARS-CoV-2 test or with Covid-19 during the competition or service period will be sampled for testing and handled according to instructions.
Hanoi requires regularly wearing masks and using hand sanitizer; limit mass gatherings in public areas; limit leaving the accommodation area if not necessary; make one-way travel from the place of residence to the place of practice, competition and vice versa.
Only take samples for rapid antigen testing of SARS-CoV-2 for people with signs and symptoms suspected of having Covid-19 or having close contact with infected people. Spectators attending live matches do not have to take samples for testing.
At the accommodation area, make sure to separate each area or each hotel to limit contact between sports teams and strangers.
In addition, there is a separate dining area or a reasonable seating arrangement; keep a safe distance in case of necessity, a one-way road should be arranged; arrange a temporary medical isolation room when detecting suspected cases of Covid-19 infection.
At the competition venue, ensure clear division of the area and strict access control to minimize contact between different groups.
At times, the number of employees in each area must be kept to the minimum required; arrange separate aisles for athletes, the coaching staff, the referees, the match organizers; arrange a temporary medical isolation room when detecting suspected cases of Covid-19 infection.
The organizers disinfect the inside of the competition area (for indoor competitions) one day before the competition. During the time of the competition, the local Organizing Committee arranged staff to clean and disinfect the contact areas regularly twice a day.
Based on the development of the Covid-19 epidemic at the time of organizing the competition, Hanoi proposed three scenarios for organizing the competition, including completely closed competition; limiting the number of spectators; full audience.
The plan also sets out how to arrange human resources, equipment and report information to ensure epidemic prevention and control for the 31st SEA Games.
