On August 4th, the Barefoot Run on the Beach 2024 took place at Da Nang Beach, attracting nearly 1,000 running enthusiasts
The race covered a distance of 4 km along Da Nang Beach with two categories, male and female, starting from the Ariyana Da Nang International Convention Center to the Muong Thanh Hotel (at the intersection of Vo Nguyen Giap and Nguyen Van Thoai Streets, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City).
The Barefoot Run on the Beach 2024 was organized by the Da Nang Tourism Association, the Da Nang Hotel Association, and the Ariyana Da Nang International Convention Center.
Among the nearly 1,000 registered participants, in addition to tourists, local residents, sports enthusiasts, and businesses in the tourism and service industries, there were also visitors from Quang Nam, Thua Thien-Hue, and international tourists.
Barefoot Beach Run on August 4
The race aimed to showcase the beauty of Da Nang’s beach to visitors, promote health and fitness, enhance community connection, and raise environmental awareness.
In the results, Nguyen Hoang Phi Vinh won first place overall with a time of 17 minutes, followed by Dang Dao Duc in second place and Pham Nhu Phuoc in third place in the men’s category.
In the women’s category, Le Thi Phuong came in first, Nguyen Thi Thu Trang in second, and Kim Anh in third.
The Barefoot Run on the Beach is expected to become an annual event from 2024. Mrs. Truong Thi Lan Huong, Executive Director of the Ariyana Da Nang International Convention Center, stated that this is a great opportunity for the local sports-loving community, tourism and service industry personnel in Da Nang, as well as domestic and international tourists, to participate in a lively atmosphere, enjoy exciting sports moments, and admire the stunning beauty of Da Nang’s beach.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association and Chairman of the Da Nang Hotel Association, added that the Barefoot Run on the Beach continues to add to the events and festivals at Da Nang Beach this summer, such as the Asian Film Festival, My Tam’s My Soul 1981 live show, the Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival, and the upcoming rock music live show “The Next.”
The vibrant activities at Da Nang Beach demonstrate that Da Nang’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism strategy has proven effective and is on the right track, aiming to make the city a focal point for top events in Asia.
