Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc.’s commercial banking entity, MUFG Bank, has just appointed Hoang Thi Tuong Khanh as Director and Head of Global Corporate Banking in Vietnam.
Khanh joined the bank on 17 August 2020 and she will be responsible for the bank’s coverage of local and global corporate clients in the country. Based in Hanoi, she will report to Mr. Keiji Shiwa, Managing Director & Regional Deputy Head of MUFG Vietnam. She will also report functionally to Mr. Richard Yorke, Managing Director & Head of Global Corporate & Investment Banking for the Asia Pacific region.
A career banker with more than 27 years of experience, Ms. Khanh’s last role prior to her current position was Director of Performance Management, Strategy and Business Development of the Wholesale Banking Division at the Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint-Stock Bank (Techcombank).
Ms. Khanh started her banking career with ANZ Bank Vietnam Ltd, and during her tenure, she helped build the bank’s corporate banking business when it first opened in the country. At ANZ, she was also the head of its transaction banking and correspondent banking departments.
The new appointment underscores MUFG’s ongoing commitment to deepen its management bench with experienced bankers as it continues to grow its business footprint across key markets across 20 markets in Asia Pacific.
MUFG has been present in Vietnam for over 25 years. The bank has served as the main intermediary for Japanese and global investment in the country and actively supports the growth of Vietnam’s corporates and state-owned enterprises with a comprehensive suite of business solutions.
