During the 7-day Lunar New Year holiday of the Dragon Year 2024, the Traffic Police detected 71,382 traffic violations, imposed fines of 182.3 billion VND, temporarily impounded 1,463 cars, 34,082 motorbikes, and 140 other vehicles, and revoked 18,899 driver’s licenses.
Regarding violations of alcohol concentration, 29,099 cases were detected, accounting for 41.25% of total violations, while 16,756 cases of vehicles with speed violations were detected, accounting for 23.75% of total violations.
114 cases of drug-positive drivers were detected, and 541 traffic accidents occurred nationwide, resulting in 214 deaths and 504 injuries. Compared to the previous year, the number of deaths due to traffic accidents decreased by 24.38%.
