Recently, the Government Office issued Official Letter No. 9087/VPCP-KGVX conveying the opinion of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on the Lunar New Year 2020 holiday schedule of cadres, civil servants, officials and employees nationwide.
Under the proposal, employees in State administrative agencies, non-productive establishments, political and socio-political organisations will have seven days off from January 23 to 29 to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Rat. In which, the day 28 and 29/01/2020 are compensated for Saturday and Sunday.
The Lunar New Year is the biggest festival in a year for Vietnamese. It is traditionally an occasion for family reunion, and most people will try to return to the home village for the celebration.
