Many lodging facilities in the Old Quarter offer one-night service prices below VND1 million (US$42)/room.
A number of lodging facilities in Hanoi are offering competitive prices to attract visitors in the upcoming New Year amid thin demand due to global restrictions.
Hotels, motels, homestays, and other establishments announce reasonable service prices for the three-day holiday with an aim to boost inbound tourism.
Online reservation platforms like Booking.com and Agoda.com offer prices for three days and two nights service in five-star Sheraton hotel in Tay Ho District at VND5.5 million (US$239)/double room; four-star Canary hotel in Hai Ba Trung District at more than VND1 million (US$42)/double room (compared to the previous rate at VND4.4 million); The Oriental Jade Hotel in Hoan Kiem District at VND3.1/room; five-star Periot Grand Hotel & Spa by Aira in Hoan Kiem District at VND3.8 million/room (compared to VND9.4 million before).
Quotation on Agoda.com for one night service in the Old Quarter (Hoan Kiem District) is mainly below VND1 million (US$42)/room, including L’Heritage Diamond Hanoi with VND600,000/room; La Siesta Premium at VND760,000/room; La Sinfonia del Rey Hotel and Spa at VND780,000/room. The prices are believed to be half of the common rates.
Nguyen Thanh Thuy, general director of Silk Path hotel system, said the current prices of their facilities are around 20-50% lower than the common amount.
Director of Hanoitourist Travel Company Phung Quang Thang said the prices of lodging facilities in Hanoi are at record-low levels and it’s a good opportunity for local people to explore different places in the city.
Nguyen Hoang Oanh, director of Top Travel Company, said the enjoyment at good quality hotels in Hanoi is a new tourism trend that brings about both good time and affordable payment.
Local experts said that Hanoi needs to organize more activities and diversify services to develop its hospitality industry.
