TUYÊN QUANG — With nearly a month to go before the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival, Tuyên Quang City is already glowing with festive cheer. The main streets brim with locals and tourists drawn to giant, colourful lantern displays that illuminate the night sky.

Each weekend, the city transforms into a lively hub, creating a sparkling atmosphere for what is hailed as the ‘largest Mid-Autumn Festival in Việt Nam.’

In addition to the huge scale models, visitors can also soak themselves in a typical cultural space, have fun and explore the beauty of the revolutionary homeland of Tuyên Quang.

The provincial People’s Committee has issued a plan to organise Thành Tuyên Festival in 2025 with many unique cultural and sports activities.

The festival will be organised on October 3-5 in the city’s centre area and Lô River banks.
The highlights will be a parade of 60 giant lantern models along with other sidelined events such as a trade and tourism fair, a food and beer festival, folk games and sport competitions.

Participating in the three-day festival are famous artists and children with vibrant modern and traditional music and dance performance.
This is the third year Tuyên Quang has implemented the project to innovate the organisation of Thành Tuyên Festival. The main goal is to build and develop the festival into a national and international tourism product.

The festival was first organised in 2004. It was upgraded to a provincial-level event in 2014 and has become one of the most typical cultural and tourist event of the province every year.
