LÂM ĐỒNG — Visitors in Việt Nam and abroad can now learn about the history and development of the Tây Nguyên (Central Highlands) province of Lâm Đồng from its early days until today through a 3D virtual tour launched by its museum.
The tour allows visitors to virtually explore more than 200 signature exhibits selected from the museum’s 12,000 items.
It provides information about the nature and history of the province through items excavated at the Cát Tiên and Phú Mỹ archaeological sites in Cát Tiên District, such as working tools of ancient people belonging to the Metal Age, dating back about 2,500 years ago.
It also introduces the cultural characteristics and lifestyle of ethnic minority groups in the province, including the Mạ, the K’Ho, and the Churu.
Their daily life activities, such as hunting, farming, brocade weaving and fish catching are also featured.
The showcase includes objects and photos describing the patriotism and sacrifice of the province soldiers and people during the two resistance wars under the leadership of the Party and President Hồ Chí Minh.
Photos of the province’s beauty and achievements in all fields are highlighted as well.
Hoàng Ngọc Huy, the museum’s director, said the application of technology contributed to improving the operation efficiency of Lâm Đồng Museum in managing and preserving artefacts and promoting the values of national cultural heritage.
Lâm Đồng Museum was established in 1978. It contains 15,000 documents and objects featuring the history and development of the province and the cultural and social life of its residents.
The museum has displayed more than 2,000 objects and digitalised 5,000 items.
The tour is on the website https://3d.baotanglamdong.com.vn/.
