Hoi An City will offer free admission to its Ancient Town for visitors on December 4, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Hoi An Ancient Town’s UNESCO World Heritage designation.
To mark 25 years since Hoi An Ancient Town was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site (December 4, 1999 – December 4, 2024), Hoi An City (Quang Nam Province) will hold a series of events from November 23 to December 4.
These events include discussions on “Dang Huy Tru and Hoi An” and “Milestones in Preserving and Promoting the Cultural Heritage of Hoi An Ancient Town”; the publication of a specialized research volume on 25 years of heritage preservation; an art exhibition “Hoi An Heritage in Paintings” by artist Luu Cong Nhan; and photo displays on themes such as “Hoi An through Window Eyes,” Hoi An, and activities like “Discovering Heritage Sites through Books” and “Hoi An Ancient Town World Heritage – 25 Years of Preservation and Promotion.”

Additionally, Hoi An will host events like the “Our Heritage” competition, the “For World Cultural Heritage – Hoi An 2024” marathon, the inauguration of a civilized trade street, and the opening of a Local Products Museum. These activities aim to continue raising awareness, promoting the cultural heritage values, and highlighting the role of cultural heritage in the economic and social development of Hoi An. The events also support the preservation and promotion of Hoi An’s World Heritage values and enhance its appeal as a destination for both domestic and international tourists.
