After the dazzling unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) light show at the opening ceremony of the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City River Festival, the organizers will continue to paint the city sky with a colorful canvas using 1,100 drones at the closing night.

Accordingly, the “Sparkling River Song” performance will take place at 20:25 on June 9, lasting approximately 15 minutes on the Saigon River, at the riverside park in Thu Duc city. Citizens and tourists will have the opportunity to admire the artistic performance of 1,100 drones – the largest number ever in Ho Chi Minh City.
Surrounding areas including the central Bach Dang pier, pedestrian streets, and riverside areas will become a grandstand to watch the drone show. The unmanned aerial devices will display artistic lights, forming iconic symbols of Ho Chi Minh City and conveying messages about a dynamic, richly cultural city that attracts tourists.
In addition to the artistic drone performance, the organizers will also combine underwater sports and artistic lighting performances to serve the public and tourists from 19:00 to 20:30 on June 8 and 9 at Bach Dang area. Moreover, a procession of 15 dragon boats, restaurant ships, yachts, river buses, and double-decker river buses will parade on the evenings of June 7, 8, and 9 from 20:30 to 21:30 in the Bach Dang area.
At the same time, other interactive spaces will continue to operate to serve the public and tourists during the 2nd Ho Chi Minh City Waterways Festival.
This includes the “On the Wharf, Under the Boat” space at the downtown pier on Nhieu Loc – Thi Nghe canal (District 1), recreating the atmosphere of the ancient floating market in the Mekong Delta, introducing characteristic products, and traditional culinary culture from various regions to tourists and city residents. Additionally, the Fruit Week “On the Wharf, Under the Boat” at Binh Dong pier (District 8) will recreate the lively water scene, rich with the distinctive culture of the Mekong Delta.
The 2nd Ho Chi Minh City Waterways Festival also features the “Sails Reaching Far” exhibition, bringing an artistic space inspired by creatively decorated colorful sails and lighting effects set on the grassy areas in front of the Thu Ngu flagpole monument; artistic light decoration spaces at Bach Dang Park…
