HCM CITY – HCM City Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee is organising a festival for children in Việt Nam, Laos and Cambodia to foster friendly relations between the countries.
Ngô Văn Cương, secretary of the central committee, said that the friendly relations between Việt Nam, Laos and Cambodia, as well as their youths, have been developed well over the years.
As part of the festival, around 185 children from three countries are partaking in several educational and entertainment activities, such as musical performances, scientific experiments, virtual reality games, and art galleries.
Children will visit museums, historical sites, and the Cần Giờ Mangroove.
The festival also aims to have children meet up with one another and learn about their countries’ relations.

Nguyễn Võ Ngọc Giàu, a student in Bình Thạnh District’s Hà Huy Tập Secondary School, said that this is a great opportunity for local children to hang out with international friends, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Held until August 14, the festival aims to celebrate the upcoming 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Việt Nam and Laos (September 5) and the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Việt Nam – Cambodia diplomatic relations (June 24).
This is the fifth time the biannual festival has been organised since 2010. COVID-19 had delayed the 2020 festival to this year. – VNS
