HCM CITY — HCM City has been awarded “Asia’s Best MICE Destination” for a fourth year in a row.
The award was announced at the 4th annual World MICE Awards gala ceremony held on March 6 in Berlin.
The award is a recognition for the continued efforts of the city’s tourism sector and demonstrates global confidence in the city’s tourism potential, said Bùi Thị Ngọc Hiếu, deputy director of HCM City Department of Tourism, who received the award at the ceremony.
The city is striving to become a leading tourism destination in Asia and promote its image as an open, youthful and livable city by 2030, she said.
The department pledges to improve MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions) infrastructure and services to host more international events and attract more visitors.
Graham Cooke, Founder of World MICE Awards, said HCM City is a unique destination with a rich history, cultural diversity and a vibrant metropolis.
With its vision to become a global tourism hub, HCM City will attract companies and world class brands to develop into a regional and global MICE tourism centre, he said.
