HCM CITY — Thousands of visitors have visited HCM City’s ‘Trên Bến Dưới Thuyền’ (On the Wharf – In the Boat) floating flower fair, which opened on February 4 at the Bình Đông Wharf in District 8.
The fair attracts more than 600 farmers and sellers from the city, Cửu Long (Mekong) Delta provinces such as Tiền Giang, Đồng Tháp, and Bến Tre, and the city of Đà Lạt.
They introduce special kinds of flowers, fruits, vegetables, and specialties of the southern region and Việt Nam at stalls or boats.
Lư Thị Tú Trinh of District 10 said prices this year were a little lower than those last year, so she chose four confetti trees to decorate her home for Tết (Lunar New Year holiday).

Vĩnh Long, which is known for having the most famous and largest brick and pottery villages in the Mekong Delta, set up a road from terracotta products made by its manufacturers to promote the art of terracotta pottery among visitors.
The organiser will offer performances of tài tử music on a boat along Tàu Hủ Canal, a lion dragon dance, and a calligraphy market at the fair.
Nguyễn Thị Thu Hoa, deputy chairwoman of the District 8’s People’s Committee, said: “The ‘Trên Bến Dưới Thuyền‘ fair is recognised as one of the HCM City’s 19 annual signature festivities.
