Hanoi will set off firecrackers at 30 venues in all local districts at the coming New Lunar Year or Tet Holiday.
The displays consist of six high-altitude shows and 24 low-altitude ones.
Each fireworks display will last for 15 minutes starting as the clock hits midnight January 25, marking the beginning of the Lunar New Year.
The municipal people’s committee has urged the Hanoi Capital High Command to co-operate with the departments of culture, sports and tourism, planning and investment, transport and some other agencies on the event.
The city also organised 30 fireworks displays last Tet, including the Hoan Kiem Lake in Hoan Kiem District, Lac Long Quan Flower Garden in Tay Ho District, My Dinh Stadium in Nam Tu Liem District, Thong Nhat Park in Hai Ba Trung District, Van Quan Lake in Ha Dong District, and Son Tay Ancient Citadel on the outskirts Son Tay District.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed to a Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs proposal on a seven-day holiday for the Lunar New Year 2020.
Holidays for Tet 2020 will begin from Thursday, January 23, 2020 to the end of Wednesday, January 29, 2020.
