Hotels often offer panoramic sea views with large windows, along with balconies and infinity pools. Solo travelers on a budget need not worry, as the average room price starts at 1 million VND.
Meanwhile, Hanoi ranks sixth, being one of the few cities in Southeast Asia that retains its timeless charm.
Hanoi locals maintain a simple and sincere daily lifestyle, providing visitors with a refreshing and authentic experience. This charm has attracted many fans, including the late renowned chef Anthony Bourdain.

The criteria for selecting destinations on Lonely Planet’s list include low crime rates, safety, affordability, diverse landscapes, a great culture, and delicious cuisine with appealing flavors.
Singapore tops the list. Other destinations include Penang in Malaysia, Siem Reap in Cambodia, Bangkok in Thailand, and Bali in Indonesia.
Since the first publication in 1973 titled “Across Asia on the Cheap,” Lonely Planet has always been considered an “empire” of the world’s most successful travel guides.
