The 28-day quarantine imposed in an area hit by Covid-19 in the northern province of Hai Duong has been lifted as the disease has basically been brought under control in the locality.
At midnight Thursday, isolation was removed for the residential area near a restaurant named The Gio Bo Tuoi (World of Fresh Beef) in Hai Duong City which was at the epicentre of the Covid-19 outbreak in the province.
Fences at the restaurant on Ngo Quyen Street were removed.
Local residents happy when the quarantined had been removed
Dang Thu Ha, vice chairman of the provincial people’s committee, said the restaurant has been re-opened from Thursday midnight.
According to Hai Duong’s Steering Board for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, 11 out of 16 Covid-19 patients related to the Covid-19 outbreak related to the restaurant have been discharged from hospital.
The Ministry of Health reported by Friday morning, Vietnam had 1,059 Covid-19 cases and 35 deaths, including four in critical condition.
The country has entered the ninth day without any community infection cases.
