Over the past time, localities have always been rushing to implement the issuance of Citizen Identification Cards (CCCD) with chips for people across the country. In the future, this is one of the procedures that is expected to be simplified in terms of records and papers to make it more convenient for administrative work.
Recently, the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order (C06) of the Ministry of Public Security has coordinated with a number of banks to pilot the service of withdrawing money by CCCD card. Some people who have experienced this feature at some banks expressed their surprise because they did not expect CCCD to also withdraw money.
Accordingly, if in the past, users only used a password to confirm information when withdrawing money with a bank card, now after the customer scans the CCCD card at an ATM, the system immediately checks and Project information on CCCD. After that, the verification of the owner’s information will be compared with the customer’s biometric data in the form of: face and fingerprint scanning will minimize the risk of possible forgery.
Up to now, according to the Center for Research and Application of Population Data and Citizen Identity, Ministry of Public Security, the deployment of CCCD application with chip to replace bank card is being piloted with some big bank. In the immediate future, it will be deployed at some points in Hanoi and Quang Ninh. It is expected that in the near future, it will expand to the whole system.
According to the leader of the Center for Research and Application of Population Data and Citizen Identity, Ministry of Public Security, the successful implementation of the citizen identification application with chip on automatic transactions will support the Bank in the process customer authentication process, reducing staff’s working time, eliminating the risks of forgery and errors in the operation process compared to the previous conventional ID verification check.
