Ms. Trieu Thi Chinh (former deputy director of the Department of Education and Training) was sentenced to 2 years in prison for taking advantage of her position and powers to influence others for self-seeking.
According to a post of Vnexpress, in the verdict sentenced this morning, the People’s Court of Ha Giang Province punished Mr. Pham Van Khuong (former deputy director of the Department of Education and Training) for one year in prison for abusing of influence over an office holder for personal gain, pursuant to 366 Criminal Code 2015.
Defendant Nguyen Thanh Hoai (former head of the Department of Educational Testing and Quality Control, Department of Education and Training) received the highest sentence in the case – 8 years in prison for abusing of power or position in performance of official duties, pursuant to article 356. For the same crime, Vu Trong Luong (former deputy head) is sentenced to 7 years in prison.
Defendant Le Thi Dung (former deputy captain of the education team, Division of Internal Political Security, Provincial Public Security) was sentenced to 2 years for abusing of influence over an office holder for personal gain, pursuant to Article 366.
This is the second case in three cases of fraud in high school 2018 exam scores discovered and brought to trial.
