A wildfire has broken out in the central province of Ha Tinh, just a week after up to 267 hectares of local forest were burned down by fire.
The blaze started at around 11:30 am on Monday in Son Chau Commune, Huong Son District.
The affected area is located on Nam Mountain which is home to mostly acacia and pine trees.
Around 200 people, including police and forest protection officers, military soldiers, and local residents worked to bring the fire under control.
Around two hours after that, the blaze was put out.
On the same day, a fire was also reported in a 30-year-old pine tree forest in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue Province’s Huong Thuy District. The incident was quickly dealt with by local residents.
Up to five hundred hectares of forest in the central city of Danang were damaged by a fire on Sunday.
Fires in Ha Tinh, from June 28 to July 1 damaged more than 267 hectares of forest.
The hot weather with temperatures of up to 40 degrees centigrade has resulted in more risks of fire-related difficulties.
