
Local police have confirmed that a 67-year-old man, Bach Van Liem, from My Tan Commune in Cao Lanh City, Dong Thap Province, southern Vietnam, has been detained for the rape and subsequent death of a 70-year-old woman.
The victim was identified as H.T.H. who was suffering from stroke paralysis. She was a neighbor of the accused.
On Friday night, a relative of H. reported her alleged rape and death to the local police. Upon arrival, the police identified Liem as the suspect and took him into custody for investigation.
During questioning at the police station, Liem admitted to sneaking into H.’s house and raping her, resulting in her death. He also confessed to having raped her once before.
An autopsy report has revealed that the victim died of a heart attack.
This is a tragic and disturbing incident that highlights the vulnerability of elderly individuals who are suffering from disabilities and illnesses.
The perpetrator must be held accountable for his heinous crime.
