CapitaLand, one of Asia’s largest diversified real estate groups pledges $18,350 to further its commitment to CapitaLand Hope Schools and mark 25th anniversary of its operations in Vietnam.
CapitaLand celebrated this journey of transformation with a gala dinner with around 400 distinguished guests, graced by Mr. Roy Kho, Consul-General of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as representatives from CapitaLand, business partners, and key stakeholders of the company. CapitaLand’s journey in Vietnam began in 1994, with the introduction of Somerset West Lake in Hanoi. Its portfolio now comprises two integrated developments, close to 8,600 quality homes across 15 residential developments, two retail malls, one business park, as well as more than 7,000 lodging units at 28 properties in nine cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ha Long, Hoi An, Da Nang, Binh Duong, Cam Ranh, and Nha Trang.
At the gala, CapitaLand Vietnam thanked all its stakeholders for accompanying the company throughout its journey of transformation, including business partners, capital partners, business associations, customers, tenants, and the media.
CapitaLand celebrates 25 years of service in Vietnam
It also believes in contributing to the local community in which it operates. Since 2005, through its philanthropic arm, the CapitaLand Hope Foundation, CapitaLand has donated more than $28.6 million to help over 40,000 vulnerable elderly in Singapore and over 164,000 underprivileged children in communities in which it has a presence.
Of this, over $16 million went towards supporting community development efforts in ASEAN countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam through strategic partnerships with local government agencies and non-profit organizations.
It pledged $18,357 at the gala in support of efforts to further its commitment to CapitaLand Hope Schools in Vietnam, which will go towards meeting the education, healthcare, and living needs of students.
CapitaLand is one of the leading developers in Vietnam and in Asia. It completed a transaction with Temasek in July to acquire Ascendas-Singbridge, making it one of Asia’s largest diversified real estate groups.
In line with its credo of “Building People. Building Communities.”, the group is committed to contributing to Vietnam’s economy by seeking opportunities to expand its presence in the country.
CapitaLand will also continue to engage and nurture a strong local team, exchange knowledge and skills with local partners, and help underprivileged children and the environment through corporate social responsibility efforts. The company has built four CapitaLand Hope Schools for underprivileged children in northern Phu Tho and Hung Yen provinces and the Mekong Delta’s Long An province.
