Binh Lieu District’s People’s Committee reports that many tourists from all over the world have visited the area to enjoy the natural scenery during the most beautiful season of the year. The ripe rice season starts in October, and Binh Lieu’s terraced fields become a beautiful sight. The fields are located near the highway, so visitors can see and smell the new rice from their car windows or stop by the roadside. The most beautiful fields in Binh Lieu are located in Khe O, Cao Thang, and Ngan Pat villages (Luc Hon commune), which are irresistible to tourists.
The locals have been cultivating the terraced fields for a long time, and they are closely associated with the ethnic communities in the area. These fields also have unique historical and cultural significance. In November 2020, the most beautiful terraced fields in Luc Hon (Luc Hon commune) were recognized as provincial-level relics and landscapes.
Apart from the beautiful natural scenery, visitors can also enjoy various artistic activities during the golden season festivals from October to early November. These activities include experiencing the new rice celebration at the homes of some households in Tay villages, camping on Cao Xiem mountain, participating in national sports and folk games such as spinning, stick pushing, tug of war, shuttlecock tossing, and performing national costumes in terraced fields. Visitors can also take check-in photos during the golden rice season, watch paragliding performances flying over the golden season, and participate in a mountain climbing tournament called “Conquering the Dinosaur Spine”.
