At a press conference on July 16, General Saengsawang stated that seven Vietnamese guests had booked five rooms at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel in Pathum Wan district. The guests checked in on July 13 and 14, occupying four rooms on the 7th floor and one on the 5th floor. By noon on July 15, the guests had checked out of the 7th-floor rooms and consolidated their luggage in the 5th-floor room, where their bodies were later discovered.
Authorities noted that meals ordered at 1:00 p.m. on July 15 were untouched, but drinks in tea cups were found, suggesting potential tampering. No signs of struggle or external injuries were found on the victims, except for one with a facial wound likely caused by a fall.
General Saengsawang emphasized that the investigation is focusing on determining the motive and identifying any potential suspects. Authorities are examining the bodies and reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel and nearby areas to gather more evidence.
The police are particularly interested in the seventh person who initially checked in with the victims, as they work to clarify the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
