The newest carrier Bamboo Airways on-time performance rate reached 93.9% in the first ten months of this year, the highest among domestic airlines.
According to Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV), between January and October this year, Bamboo Airways conducted a total of 14,378 flights, including 13,495 being on time, equal to 93.9% compared to the domestic aviation sector’s rate of 85.7%.
VASCO came second with 93.3% and the runners-up were Vietnam Airlines with 88.7%; VietJet Air with 82.9% and Jetstar Pacific with 80.6%.
The CAAV blamed overloaded infrastructure and insufficient personnel capacity causing the cancellations and delays. Bad weather condition was also behind many cases, particularly flights to small local airports.
Bamboo Airways, which is operated by FLC Group, has planned to provide up to one million tickets for domestic air routes on the occasion of the coming Tet Holiday, up 700,000 on-year.
The carrier is scheduled to receive Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner next month after Airbus A320neo and A321neo handed over to the firm earlier for its long-distance flights.
