The Master Plan for the Ba Voi Waterfall Ecotourism Area, covering an area of 120 hectares, has been approved to become an adventure ecotourism, resort, and nature exploration area.
The People’s Committee of Quang Tri province has just approved the Master Plan for the Ba Voi Waterfall Ecotourism Area, which covers an area of 120 hectares and is designated as an adventure ecotourism, resort, nature exploration, and community tourism area.
According to the plan, the Ba Voi tourism area is divided into functional zones: Zone 1 is the adventure tourism area, covering approximately 24 hectares, including special landscape spaces around the waterfall core, stone viewing, dry stream exploration, and streamside rest stops.
Zone 2 is the forest canopy tourism area, covering approximately 19.5 hectares.
Zone 3 is the landscape protection area, covering approximately 9.5 hectares, including spaces for stream viewing, natural landscape, streamside rest stops, and rescue stations.
Zone 4 is the tourism center area, covering approximately 43 hectares, including reception areas, food and beverage services, parks, combined parking and rest stops, resettlement areas, and technical infrastructure systems.
Zone 5 is the community tourism area, covering approximately 24 hectares, including residential areas combined with homestay accommodation, community activity areas, resort areas, and camping areas under the forest canopy.

According to the architectural and landscape planning of the project, areas with special-use and protective forests need to absolutely preserve the natural ecological landscape, only allowing the construction of essential structures such as walking paths and rest stops in open areas, using environmentally friendly materials.
The design and color of the architecture must harmonize with the natural ecological landscape. The terrain and landscape of the area should be maximally preserved, avoiding significant impacts that could alter or affect the natural ecosystem.
Tourism service and recreational areas should be located outside the land with natural forests; the architectural and landscape space should ensure harmony between the tourism development space and the community living space, exploiting and developing community tourism.
Ba Voi Waterfall is located below the summit of Voi Mep Mountain (Ta Linh Son), which has an elevation of over 1,700 meters above sea level and is the highest mountain in Quang Tri province.
Ba Voi is a unique scenic spot at the headwaters of the Hieu River, known for a long time but not yet invested in to exploit its potential for economic and social development.
With its majestic scenery, fresh climate, and location amidst nearly pristine forests, Ba Voi Waterfall and its surrounding ecosystem are destinations that domestic and international tourists always wish to visit and experience.
The Ba Voi Waterfall Ecotourism Area is planned to be within the midpoints of the province’s key tourism routes, particularly on the international tourism map along the East-West Economic Corridor. Despite its uniqueness and rarity, due to lack of investment and basic service infrastructure, the scale of tourists visiting Ba Voi Waterfall has been quite limited.
Based on the approved project and issued policies, Quang Tri province is calling for enterprises to invest in developing the Ba Voi Waterfall Ecotourism Area to exploit and reasonably promote the natural resources, forming a functional area for cultural tourism, sightseeing, research and education, and environmental protection.
