After a 4-day long holiday, the domestic tourism industry achieved positive numbers in terms of both arrivals and revenue.
After the holiday of April 30 to May 1, tourist destinations across the country recorded a significant increase in the number of visitors, although some places did not explode as expected.
According to the report on serving tourists on the occasion of the 30/4 – 1/5 holiday of the General Department of Tourism, during the 4 days of public holiday, the tourism industry has served about 5 million domestic tourists, of which 2 million guests stay, the total revenue is about 22,000 billion VND.
Some localities recorded the superiority in arrivals and revenue compared to the same period last year, in which Thanh Hoa must be mentioned. Last holiday, Thanh Hoa welcomed the largest number of tourists in the country, about 898,000 arrivals, totaling more than 1,600 billion VND.
Also during the holiday, major domestic airlines simultaneously increased flights and increased flight hours on all domestic routes. Airlines operate nearly 1,000 flights/day, equivalent to the same period in 2019 and up about 30% compared to weekdays.
Besides the bustling atmosphere of domestic tourism, the number of international tourists also increased after Vietnam officially opened to tourism.
According to a report from the National Administration of Tourism, in April, Vietnam welcomed 70,000 international visitors, bringing the total number of international visitors in the first four months of the year to more than 92,000.
The holiday season of April 30 to May 1 is considered as a continuation of the peak tourist season in the upcoming summer.
Right after this holiday, in mid-May, the 31st SEA Games will open in Vietnam, expected to welcome tens of thousands of international guests to cheer for a combination of sightseeing and tourism. Currently, many travel businesses are ready to plan to serve tourism on the occasion of the 31st SEA Games and the upcoming peak summer tourist season.
In 2022, Vietnam’s tourism industry aims to welcome 5 million international tourists and 60 million domestic tourists.
