More than 80 representatives from US and Vietnam discussed to prepare for the direct flights between US and Vietnam, according to U.S. Consulate General HCMC’s notice last few days.

More than 80 public and private sector representatives from both countries discussed opportunities and areas for collaboration, as the two countries prepare for direct flights, in the webinar “Opportunities in Vietnam’s Airport Infrastructure: Long Thanh International Airport- Phase 1.

The United States hosted this event focusing on US-Vietnam cooperation in Vietnam’s airport infrastructure development. The webinar also featured the Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation & Security Administration, the US Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Trade & Development Agency, all focused on working closely with Vietnam to develop a safe and efficient airport transportation industry.
Industry leaders from Autodesk, Boeing, Collins Aerospace, Haskell, Honeywell, Mitre, Rapiscan, JBT Aerotech, Turner Construction, and Tyco Security, shared best practices and innovative solutions to strengthen ties between the United States and Vietnam.

According to the notice, the U.S. government agencies are working to provide a range of support and expertise, from technical assistance to financing support for planning and pilot projects. Representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, and the Airports Corporation of Vietnam shared information regarding Vietnam’s airport development plans.
US – Vietnam Aviation Industry Group organized the event, in an effort to partner with Vietnam’s public and private sector. The partnership will help Vietnam modernize and develop the country’s aviation infrastructure, while helping prepare for direct flights between the two countries and enhancing safety and efficiency.
