Vietnam has gone 61 days without Covid-19 transmission in the community and the recovering British patient can now stand up and start to walk, said the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.
According to the committee, as of Tuesday morning, 323 out of the total 334 patients, or 96.7 percent of all cases have recovered in the country.
“There are now 11 active patients being treated at local hospitals and only six of them positive for SARS-CoV-2,” the committee said , adding that no deaths have been reported so far.
The British patient who is the country’s most serious case has recovered well and he now can stand up and start to walk.
As of 6 am on June 16, 9,234 people who had close contact with patients or came from virus-hit areas are now under quarantine at centralised quarantine areas, hospitals, or at home, the committee said.
