Mr. Bui Cong Hiep and his wife in District 9, Ho Chi Minh City donated their properties of one house and 2,500m2 of land worth more than VND 100 billion to build a home for orphans.
In Ho Chi Minh City, a couple for the past 7 years have brought up 88 abandoned children having special circumstances. When he got old, he and his wife decided to do the procedure to donate the entire their properties of more than VND 100 billion, around 4.3 mil US$ to these children.
Mr. Bui Cong Hiep (61 years old) said that in 2009 when he went to the hospital to visit his sick relatives, he saw a young girl was handing over her new born baby to another person because she is incapable of raising that child. After that, he and his wife decided to open a sponsor center to receive and raise children who were abandoned by their parents or in difficult circumstances.
In 2009, Mr. Hiep started to build the Angel House and in 2012, the first 5 children were welcomed at this center. The center has 88 orphans now. The youngest is more than two months old and the older ones are now in grade 2.
