Temperature in northern Vietnamese provinces is forecast to dip due to the effect of a cold spell, while showers will dampen the southern region this week.
The cold front entered Vietnam’s northern region on Sunday afternoon, according to the National Center for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting
From Monday, temperature is expected to lower to between 20 and 23 degrees Celsius in the Red River Delta, including Hanoi, and between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius in mountainous localities.
Occasional rains accompanied by gusts and thunderstorms will dampen the northern region, as well as localities from north-central Thanh Hoa Province to south-central Phu Yen, from October 14 to 16.
Rough seas will also occur in the Gulf of Tonkin and the northern part of the East Vietnam Sea.
In southern Vietnam, showers and thunderstorms are forecast to occur mainly in the evening.
The highest temperature in the region will be at 31 to 43 degrees Celsius, while average lows will be at between 23 and 26 degrees Celsius.
