Vietnam has been ranked as the most affordable country for expats by InterNations, a global community of expatriates. In the Expat Insider 2024 Ranking, which surveyed over 12,500 expats in 53 countries, Vietnam topped the list for personal finances, marking its fourth consecutive year in this position.
The survey evaluated five categories: quality of life, life stability, work, personal finances, and essential needs. Vietnam also ranked 14th for working conditions and 40th for quality of life.
According to the survey, 86% of expats in Vietnam rated the cost of living as good, significantly higher than the global average. Additionally, 65% were satisfied with their financial situation, and 68% reported having more than enough disposable income for a comfortable life. Interestingly, 19% of expats in Vietnam earned an annual income of $150,000 or more, compared to 10% globally.
Overall, expats in Vietnam enjoy not only low living costs but also high salaries and job satisfaction.
