Phu Quoc High-Speed Ferry Joint Stock Company announced that from June 1, they will temporarily suspend the transportation of passengers from downtown Ho Chi Minh City to Saigon – Hiep Phuoc port and vice versa.
According to Phu Quoc High-Speed Ferry Joint Stock Company (Phu Quoc Express) – the operator of the Thang Long high-speed ferry on the Ho Chi Minh City – Con Dao route, starting June 1, the company will temporarily suspend the transportation of passengers from 23/9 Park (District 1) to Saigon – Hiep Phuoc port.
Phu Quoc Express stated that during the initial phase of operating the Ho Chi Minh City – Con Dao sea route, the company organized free transportation for passengers on the high-speed ferry (for those who registered in advance) to facilitate travel from the city center to Saigon – Hiep Phuoc port and vice versa.
Phu Quoc Express’s free shuttle bus will temporarily stop operating from June 1.
“However, due to a lack of experience in organizing road transport activities, the company encountered various issues and misunderstandings among passengers during the transportation process. This led to several incidents on May 16 and negatively impacted the company’s core business of sea transportation,” Phu Quoc Express stated in an official document.
The company also mentioned that Phu Quoc Express has now partnered with several specialized road transport companies to connect with passengers and provide professional transportation services at appropriate fees. Therefore, starting June 1, Phu Quoc Express will suspend the free passenger transportation service at 23/9 Park.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, the city’s Public Transport Management Center has guided and requested Phu Quoc Express to collaborate with Phuong Trang Bus Company to develop a passenger transportation plan from 23/9 Park to Saigon – Hiep Phuoc port at reasonable fees.
