ĐÀ NẴNG — The tourism promotion centre of Đà Nẵng, in co-operation with the travel market intelligence Outbox Company, has begun building the first-ever Index of Đà Nẵng destination attractiveness (IDDA) in surveying tourism service quality and satisfaction among travellers.
Vice chairman of the city’s tourism department, Nguyễn Xuân Bình, said the Index, which plans to launch in the second quarter of this year, will help the city’s tourism reviewing its service and businesses performance in mapping out a sustainable solution for the hospitality industry in the future.
He said it’s an opportunity for the city’s tourism to check itself in designing products on the base of travellers’ basification while setting up what to do next in luring more tourists to the town.
The IDDA will collect responses from travellers through a QR Code survey to evaluate businesses’ service and the feelings of tourists after their experience in the city.
It also forecasts trends of tourists and the possibility of returning destinations for next travel trips in the future, Nguyễn Anh Thư, an expert from Outbox company, shared.
She said the IDDA would conduct surveys in different sectors of infrastructure, destinations, service quality, environment and hygiene conditions, security and safety, and price, building a detailed database for the city’s tourism master plan.
The two partners also agreed to boost human resource training in digitalisation in tourism and management in 2023-24.

Restaurants, coffee shops and accommodation services have been encouraged, offering locals and visitors free and easy use of toilets in public since 2015.
A one-year pilot programme on providing public bicycles has been launched in the city’s destinations to reduce traffic congestion.
Tripadvisor listed Mỹ Khê Beach in Đà Nẵng City as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Asia in 2023.
Currently, Đà Nẵng has 24 direct air routes, of which 16 are international, hosting an average of 100 and 112 flights per day. — VNS
