Report of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnam is one of the countries with a low unemployment rate. Accordingly, the rate of labor participating in the market reached 68.7%, unemployment rate up to this point was only 2.28%.
The website of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs quoted Minister Dao Ngoc Dung as saying that the Vietnamese economy recovered six months faster than forecast by international organizations. Vietnam belongs to the group of countries with low unemployment rate.
In which, the labor market reached 51.9 million people (an increase of 2.8 million people over the same period). The rate of labor participating in the market reached 68.7% and the unemployment rate up to this point was only 2.28%. Compared to the US, the current unemployment rate is 3.5%.
Vocational education has had positive changes in both scale and quality. The percentage of apprentices and workers’ vocational skills has been significantly improved. The quality of training is improved.
Accordingly, the percentage of employees working in suitable occupations has increased. Vietnamese workers participate in many stages of management at FDI enterprises, taking on many complicated positions and jobs that were previously in charge of foreign experts. Especially in the fields of mechatronics, welding, telecommunications, oil and gas…
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung added that at the world skills competition held in Germany with nearly 100 participating countries, Vietnam won two silver medals for the first time. That is Vietnam’s best achievement ever.
However, he also pointed out the shortcomings in the field of labor and vocational education last year such as Vietnam’s lack of local workers. Especially high-quality labor leads to low labor productivity. Labor in the informal sector also accounts for a high proportion, and labor mobility is still low. The results of poverty reduction in 2022, although meeting the target, are at the lowest level in recent years.
In addition, some state management agencies still have problems with the recognition of middle and high school students in vocational schools. According to statistics, the whole country has 63 localities conducting cultural training vocational schools, 625 vocational schools organize both vocational training and cultural studies, and over 400,000 students are studying such programs. Both vocational training and cultural learning are determined to be in accordance with the Law on Education and have been applied by the Ministry of Education and Training for many years.
The set goal is to access high-quality training methods of developed economies such as Germany, Japan, Australia; and Vietnam will be on the list of ASEAN 4 for vocational training schools of international standards.
The stated orientation is to implement dual training, apply the state mechanism and the learners join together, each large-scale enterprise will be a practice school. In addition, increasing the percentage of workers with certificates and diplomas, creating a strong change in the quality of vocational training, especially vocational skills.
