With a rich array of traditional specialties and innovative dining experiences, Hue, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City have been ranked among the top culinary cities worldwide in 2024.

The renowned culinary site TasteAtlas recently unveiled its list of the Top 100 Culinary Cities in the World for 2024, featuring three Vietnamese cities: Hue, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City.
Hue claimed the 35th spot with a score of 4.53 stars, surpassing culinary powerhouses like Mexico and Brazil.
TasteAtlas recommends several must-try dishes in Hue, including bun bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup), spring rolls (grilled lemongrass pork skewers), banh beo (steamed rice cakes), banh yam Hue (Hue pancakes), banh bot loc (shrimp and pork dumplings), che hat lotus (lotus seed sweet soup), and green rice flakes.
Ranked 40th with 4.5 stars, Hanoi is famous for its exquisite specialties. Visitors should not miss iconic dishes such as pho (Vietnamese noodle soup), cha gio (spring rolls), bun cha (grilled pork with vermicelli), bun rieu (crab noodle soup), bun oc (snail noodle soup), banh cuon ( steamed rice rolls with pork and mushroom), bun dau mam tom (fermented shrimp paste with vermicelli and tofu), and egg coffee.
Ho Chi Minh City secured the 56th spot with 4.45 stars. This bustling metropolis is celebrated for its diverse culinary offerings, including cha gio (spring rolls), com tam (broken rice with grilled pork), banh mi (Vietnamese baguette), hu tieu (southern-style noodle soup), oc len xoa dua (stir-fried snails with coconut milk), and pha lau (offal stew).

The top spot on the list went to Naples, Italy, famous for its rich and diverse gastronomy. Naples is best known for its Pizza Napoletana, a symbol of the city’s culinary pride, along with spaghetti and a wide variety of seafood dishes.
Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Croatia, TasteAtlas is a well-known global food map. According to founder Matija Babić, the rankings are based on evaluations from culinary experts, food critics, and reader feedback, ensuring the credibility of the awards.
The 2024 Top 100 Culinary Cities list was compiled from 17,073 cities and based on 477,287 valid votes in the platform’s database.
